Mohammad Sameeh Kor is a multi
talented Syrian artist who bridges the
worlds of medicine and art. He is a dentist,
an oud player, a composer, a music
arranger, and a certified music instructor.
He comes from a distinguished artistic family in the city of Aleppo. He is the
grandson of the late musician, oud player, and composer Nadeem
Al-Darwish, and the renowned ney player and composer Ali Al-Darwish.
Mohammad holds membership in the Syrian Artists Syndicate (2025) and
the Emirates Musicians Association
(Membership Number: 222023000370).
He was also granted the UAE Golden Visa in the category of creative
professionals, in recognition of his outstanding artistic and musical
contributions.
Born in Aleppo in 1997, Mohammad began his musical journey at an early
age. At just eight years old, he enrolled in the Sabah Fakhri Institute of Music
(formerly the Arab Institute), part of the Syrian Ministry of Culture,
encouraged by his mother, music teacher Hala Masri, daughter of the late
Nadeem Masri (Nadeem Al-Darwish).
Under the guidance of distinguished masters, he acquired extensive
experience in performance and musical composition, eventually forming
his own artistic identity through years of dedication and practice.
He graduated in 2018 from the Sabah Fakhri Institute with distinction and
began teaching the oud — a role he continues to fulfill to this day.
Mohammad participated in several international music competitions,
most notably the Arab Young Performer Forum in Sfax, Tunisia (2009),
where he won second place across the Arab world in the 14–12 age category.
He has presented numerous musical works of spiritual and Ramadaninspired style within the program “Rules of Love” in Egypt, including:

He additionally participated in the Saudi series “Faqd”, composed by Ahmad
Kureini.
In 2022, Mohammad contributed as part of an international working group
to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage listing of the Oud, representing
Arab musicians in this significant cultural achievement.
He has performed in numerous musical evenings at the Damascus Opera
House, presenting his compositions and performances to a wide audience of
Oriental music enthusiasts.
